whimsy

Lookbook photos from Kron by KronKron shoes. They have a nicely designed website too.

50 states project

Vermont - Industry

Michigan - Landscape

Kansas - People

Maine - Landscape

Iowa - Industry

Connecticut - Industry (These are the balls from an Ikea ball-pit)

California - Industry (Photograph with Bart Simpson)

Arizona - Habitat

The 50 States Project invited a photographer from each state to take a series of images representing their state. The assignments were: people, habitat, landscape and industry. See more and read about the photographers on the website. I didn't really think the ones of New Jersey were very exciting, so I didn't post them here.

ashes, ashes.

Time lapse video of the fire in the Angeles National Forest. This is really beautiful but terrifying at the same time. I've never lived in a place where wildfires are a problem so I don't understand why it looks like people haven't evacuated?

blown away

From The Fashion Time Magazine. Valentine Zeliaeva in Elle, September 09. Pretty!

into the wild

These images are from an Concierge article - America's Best Hikes. I only really looked at it because I thought maybe the Princeton Canal might be on there. Silly me! That's more of a place to walk, not hike. I'm not even much of a hiking person but this article made me want to get outdoors - if only to take some pictures like these. Sometimes you forget how pretty America is.

From the top: Presidential Traverse, New Hampshire; Angels Landing, Zion Canyon, Utah; Conundrum Hot Springs, Colorado; John Muir Trail, California (Ansel Adams wilderness); Chilkoot Trail, Alaska; Teton Crest Trail, Wyoming. The last one reminds me of Oregon Trail - you see it right?

suzani

This is probably the best furniture makeover I've ever seen on Design*Sponge. About two years ago I found a similar looking chair on the side of the road, so Sam and I snagged it. It's been sitting in my house waiting for me to show it some TLC ever since. So when I saw this post I was like YES! This is it!

Never seen or heard of this type of fabric before, so I Googled it. Wikipedia said it's called Suzani, "antique and decorative tribal textile made in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and other Central Asia countries."

I love the brightly colored ones most. I want one for my bedspread. I need to learn how to upholster.
