highland fling

This is part of Topshop's newest line of fall clothing, named "Highland Fling." They've taken staples of Scotland and revised them - Fair Isle prints, oversized knits, even tartan plaid. I'm a fan of all things Scottish, so I was instantly drawn to this collection.

Check out the link for more photos showing off the adorable shearling vest, plaids, knit leggings, double breasted coats, fur gloves, over the knee boots, and cute pom-pom hats!
I need to get to Topshop NYC, quick!

thursday styles

Thursday mornings are my favorite, because the Thursday Styles and Home sections come in the New York Times. This morning there was an article about Hollister and Porter Hovey, who are collectors of all things vintage. This is their loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I love anything with a story to it, so I completely understand their sense of style - accumulating all kinds of things that fascinate them. What they have collected is just fantastic and they really have a lovely home. I could really see myself getting carried down this road (my boyfriend would absolutely hate that). I would leave out the taxidermy though, I prefer my pets living!

There is a really great slideshow of their apartment here.

club culture

I've been searching for my dream bike for months now, and I've really gained an appreciation for vintage English three-speeds, like this Raleigh. I think part of the reason these appeal to me so much is that they provoke feelings of well dressed British men riding through the rainy countryside. I just love the old-school appeal. I even prefer the men's high bar to the step-through frame, which has made it hard for me to find one that's small enough for me.

Thanks to ds220 for the picture.
